Observations, News & Fun

from our Exploration of the Tiny House Movement

Road Trip to the Georgia Tiny House Festival

Time to dust of our tires and hit the road again!

Christian and I have been enjoying stationary winter living in greater Raleigh, NC. We have been hard at work on editing and tiny home improvements—amazingly multifunctional and lovely! Festival attendees will be the first to check out these new features (except for sneak peaks on Instagram Stories, @tiny_house_expedition).

We hope to see all of you at the 3rd Annual Georgia Tiny House Festival at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Our tiny house will be among over 80 other tiny structures, including skoolies, van conversions, gypsy wagons and more. Perhaps the part we are most looking forward to is the after-hangs with other tiny dwellers and attendee campers. The potlucks and storytelling are simply the best.  If you had made arrangements yet, it's not too late to book your dry campsite. We also completely stoked to witness Zack Giffin and Operation Tiny Home's workshop and get pumped up by the speakers from all walks of the movement. Sunday's keynote is Atlanta's "Tiny House Guy", Will Johnston of Tiny House Atlanta and the MicroLife Institue. His organizations are doing big things on the local scene. The best part, you can learn how to join the bandwagon or start your own wherever you live. Full schedule available here: http://unitedtinyhouse.com/2018-georgia-tiny-house-festival/schedule

Other happenings not to miss: music (from Artmus Pyle Band, of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame, to singer/songwriter Kate Steinway and her tiny house song), fire dancing and free advice from pros to DIYers.

You can catch us on Friday, during the free School Day, presenting a special reading and making of children's book, The Big Adventures of Tiny House, with author/illustrator duo Susan Bernardo and Courtenay Fletcher. We also be giving a presentation on Saturday at 10:30am titled, Our Tiny House Movement Revolution. This will be an empowering look at far this grassroots movement has come, identifying remaining social/legal obstacles, and how together, we are all revolutionizing the American Dream.

Curious but can't make it? Join Christian and I on Facebook Live! We'll broadcasting the top highlights of Festival experience. Be sure to like the Georgia Tiny House Festival page to stay up-to-date; the home of our Live Broadcasts.
